Parkside Updates & Information 10/23/25

Hello Parkside Families,

Tomorrow we will be celebrating our Pennsylvania Blue Ribbon designation during a school-wide assembly with some special guests.  Although we would love to invite all of our family and friends, our space does not allow for it.  If you would like to view our Banner Unveiling Ceremony and Celebration, check out the Penn-Delco Facebook Page—the district will provide a Facebook Live event around 10:00 am so that you may attend virtually if you're able to watch! The district has provided a Blue Ribbon t-shirt for each child and staff member—so we will be the Blue Crew on Friday!  Shirts will be distributed on Friday morning so no one forgets/loses them.

After the assembly, we are having a fun-filled day with Inflatables, games, artwork, and a snack.  Tri-State Towing and Recovery has generously purchased water ice and a soft pretzel for each child—we thank them for their wonderful gift and appreciate the support from a great local business!

Since we will be outside for a good part of the day, please dress your child in layers and make sure they are wearing socks!  We are looking forward to taking the day to celebrate, and ask for your help in reinforcing positive expectations for the day so that we can all enjoy the festivities!

On November 10, 2025 Barksdale will be here to do picture re-takes for those who were absent or would like a re-do!  Click HERE for information.

Flu Vaccine Clinic

Penn-Delco was able to enlist the flu shot team from the Springfield Pharmacy to distribute flu shots to students and staff on the original date of October 28th.

Only students whose parent’s have completed the online form will be permitted to receive the vaccination.  This is the form that must be completed online: Online Form Link

From the School Nurse:

It’s that time of year, again—cold and flu season will be here before we know it and we’ve already seen the “Back to School” germs take their toll on some.  Remind your child that hand-washing and using good hygiene practices will help stop the spread of germs!  Please remember that if your child has a fever, they should remain home from school until they are fever-free without medication.  They should also stay home if they have been vomiting or have diarrhea.  Once they are symptom-free for 24 hours, they may return.

Coming Soon: On Saturday, November 15, the Winterfest Vendor Event will be held in the Parkside Multipurpose Room from 10-3.  Come out, eat, shop and let the kids do a craft!

The next PTL Meeting will be held in the Cafeteria on November 12th, 2025

November is in full effect and the fall weather is upon us.  Please have your child layer their clothing as we move into the “-ber” months so that they are comfortable in varying temperatures.  If you packed an extra outfit for your child, please make sure you change it out for a seasonally appropriate one as the weather continues to change.

Remember to check out the Parkside Webpage to see the most up to date information.  I encourage you to look at the Parkside Calendar at the bottom of the page for the cycle days and other important events.  I also encourage you to read through the Parkside Handbook to review important guidelines for attendance, discipline, etc…

If you have questions, concerns, or feedback, please reach out.  I can be reached by email at tyoung@pdsd.org or by phone at 610-497-6300 Ext. 6500!

Best,
