Penn-Delco Launches New Elementary Curriculum

This school year, Penn-Delco School District is excited to roll out the Leader in Me curriculum across all elementary schools! After a successful pilot at Parkside Elementary last year, we saw firsthand how this program empowers young students to grow as leaders and take charge of their personal and academic journeys.

Using the "7 Habits of Highly Effective Students" as a guide, Leader in Me helps students develop essential skills that will benefit them in school and beyond. At Parkside, students are already setting goals, celebrating milestones, and stepping into leadership roles within the school.

Leader in Me is helping our students recognize their worth and what they bring to our school community." Tara Young, Parkside Elementary School Principal

Staff across our elementary schools have been training and preparing for this program, which is now part of students’ weekly schedule, with lessons taught in both Guidance and regular class time. We’re looking forward to seeing students grow as they “achieve, succeed, and excel”- both now and in the future.

“This is an ideal fit for our district, equipping K-5 students with ‘Ready for Life’ skills that will benefit them well beyond elementary school.” George Steinhoff, Penn-Delco School District Superintendent.

Stay tuned for updates and ways you can support the Leader in Me experience at home!
